Mobster Joey Merlino, also known as “Skinny Joey” has been banned from all Pennsylvania casinos after the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board voted unanimously to exclude him.
The ban follows a recent physical altercation between Merlino and fellow gamblers at the Sugar House Casino in Pennsylvania. The Gaming Control Board had tried multiple times to serve Merlino with documents for the investigation which he refused to accept.
We tried to serve him at his restaurant, his home, at Harrah's, at SugarHouse. It's a permanent ban unless he petitions the board to be removed and provides the board with ample reason why he should be removed from the list
The ban follows a government crack-down on organised crime. Merlino was sentenced to 14 year in prison in 2001 on racketeering, illegal gambling and extortion charges, he was released in 2011. Merlino, a son of the underboss Chuckle Merlino of the Scarfo crime family has also survived several assassination attempts on his life.
