Danish Poker Pro, Gus Hansen has been seen playing poker after 19 months away from the game after a long downswing in form.
Hansen, an ambassador for the now defunct Full Tilt Poker was down $20.7 million on that site alone during 8 years at the site playing over 1.5 million hands of poker at some big stakes. $17 Million of those losses came on a big downswing between 2012 and 1014.
Hansen was seen playing $1,500-$3,000 high stakes mixed game at the Bellagio in Las Vegas with the likes of Daniel Negreanu on his return to poker.
Hansen, playing under the screen name of ‘broksi’, was seen playing $200-$400 triple draw limit and limit Omaha hi-lo at Pokerstars shortly after his stint at the Bellagio. His return to the online game proved successful, posting a 5 figure profit during the session. Hansen, also shows a loss on PokerStars, but of just $1.4 million.
Hansen had quit poker last year following a series of big losses and had returned to his native Denmark to get away from what he described as the ‘wild lifestyle’ and ‘insane bets’ of Las Vegas. Hansen acknowledged his discipline in poker had gone and he played on tilt, quoting his tilt factor as ‘about the worst in the world’.
