All the hard work and training paid off for Dan Bilzerian as he won his $1.2 million prop bet with Bill Perkins, completing the 320 mile trip in just 33 hours.

In typical Bilzerian style, the event turned in to a mass publicity stunt, with Lance Armstrong and Rick Saloman also getting involved. Saloman, of Paris Hilton tape fame put up his private jet as a side bet against Perkins to add a bit of extra juice.

Bilzerian set off with a 10 motorcycle police escort and an entourage of 20 people across the Mojave Desert with RV’s in tow.

I was there when Dan took off and it was a bit of a circus. He had a 20-person staff and a 10-motorcycle escort. And he was not riding the kind of bike that I thought would be correct for getting this done. The bike was what you’d see a grandpa riding on the boardwalk in Santa Monica — wide, with a giant, cushiony seat. For much of the journey Bilzerian adopted a drafting position behind the support van with the doors wide open enabling Bilzerian to free-wheel much of the way in the slip-stream. Bilzerian insisted the van’s presence was merely for social media coverage as a drafted effortlessly behind it.
