Bill Perkins, who recently got Antonio Esfandiari disqualified from a big poker tournament in the Bahamas when seeing through a bizarre prop bet has now turned his sights on Dan Bilzerian.
Perkins, a millionaire film producer and hedge fund manager had challenged Esfandiari to Lunge everywhere for two days. Nearing the end of the challenge, a near crippled Esfandiari couldn’t bare lunging to the toilet so instead urinated in a container on the gaming floor, resulting in his disqualification.
Perkins has now challenged Dan Bilzerian to cycle from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in two days for a reported $1.2 million dollar prop bet.
Bilzerian, a self-promoting Instagram aficionado and occasional high stakes poker player and at times a degenerate high-stakes gambler has taken up the challenge. Bilzerian, who confessed to having not ridden a bicycle in over 18 years took up Perkins prop bet challenge after checking out the distance on Google.
Bilzerian, considered the distance of 278 miles reported on Google within his abilities; but that was a straight line from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
Must have a shortcut
Bilzerian, more accustomed to travelling everywhere on private jets will need to cover around 320 miles by road. At around 160 miles a day, the route over the Mojave Desert and several mountain ranges, at a distance considered extreme even in the Tour De France. The longest stage in this year’s Tour De France is the flat stage 3, from Granville to Angers of 222km, which equates to 138 miles.
Bilzerian who likes to party hard, does have an advantage over the athletes in the Tour De France, where performance enhancing drugs are banned. Bilzerian, who is open about his use of steroids and recreational drugs could well do a 'Lance Armstrong' across the Californian Desert and win his $1.2 million prop bet.
